It is when he meets an old cook that the hero begins to understand the philosophy of this place. Having survived a shipwreck, the cook has made a promise to the Saint protector of the city: on the day of the procession, he will carry a huge stone on his back to the church altar. But not knowing if he will be able to fulfill it, he asks the young engineer to help.
